Lockdown Update

Pour yourself a hot, or strong, drink – it looks like it’s time to settle in and get cosy for winter. Chelmsford, along with much of the South East, has been placed into Tier 4, with tighter restrictions changing the festive plans of many, and requiring Bond Street stores to close their doors.

We’re encouraging everyone to stay at home, and if you are using any of our services please take care.  Click-and-collect and takeaway services are available at certain retailers; please check with them for details and any last-minute changes in opening times.

The new restrictions will affect far more than just Bond Street, and we encourage everyone to remember those whose plans have been disrupted or cancelled, leaving many without the time or the means to celebrate Christmas, and isolated from family and friends. Local community groups and charities will be offering help, and we’ll share any links and resources across our social media.

Give as you Live in support of City of Chelmsford MENCAP

There’s plenty we can do to support those in need at Christmas, and that kindness will be even more important this year. Whether it’s donating to a food bank, volunteering at a soup kitchen, or lending your terrible dance moves to the latest Instagram charity challenge, all the little things add up and truly make a difference.

While our usual fundraising activities have been restricted this year, including hosting the City of Chelmsford Mencap Christmas Market, there are plenty of ways you can still help this Christmas.
